Wissekerke Castle

Practical information

Both young and old alike can enjoy an interactive taste of noble life in the 19th century – the glory days of the castle – and experience the fascinating, turbulent spirit of the time. Zoé de Feltz takes visitors on a journey through family history, the birth of Belgium, the tensions that existed between Catholics and Liberals, international politics, and her special bond with Napoleon.

Individual visitors

For individual visitors there are three great audio guides: a standard trail “A tour with Zoé de Felz", a kid's trail "Serafina the sphinx shares the secrets of the castle" and a youth trail “19th century splendour meets the latest hits”.

Families

Wissekerke Castle is a super-friendly destination for the family. For children, the interactive visit is made even more fun when they hear the stories told by Serafina the sphinx. Set to a hip soundtrack, the unique youth trail takes a look behind the scenes of 19th-century beauty.

Groups

Classes and other groups are accompanied by an enthusiastic guide. A tour lasts 2 hours with a maximum of 20 people per guide. From 15 people onwards, a guide is obligatory.

Accessibility

The main part of the castle grounds is wheelchair accessible. Inside the castle itself, the main part of the trail takes place on the ground floor. The lift does not fit wheelchairs. The rooms that are not accessible because of this are digitally unlocked downstairs. So everyone can still experience the full picture.
